R01282020: Business Analyst

As a salaried fulltime employee of Ferguson Consulting, you will function as a contract IT resource in the role of Business Analyst at the enterprise level for our reinsurance client in Chesterfield, MO. This particular role is looking for a possible conversion after 6 months or 1 year.

In this role, you will lead requirement gather sessions, testing requirements in both a QA and UAT fashion, ensure business needs are met within timelines and budgets. You will identify client’s business needs for systems development, perform requirement analysis, documentation of requirements and partners with developers to ensure appropriate solutions are designed. You will train users on system functionality and supports them during all phases of implementation.

What You'll Do:

  • Meet with clients to gain an understanding of their business needs and analyze various complex business areas/functions.
  • Document the clients’ business needs in the form of formal requirements (including user stories) and work with the developers/designers to develop appropriate solutions; while ensuring the solution supports all affected business units.
  • Work within the constraints of time, cost, scope and quality. Document work flow using Business Process Modeling tools. Ensure on-going communication and positive working relationship with clients throughout the project life cycle.
  • Develop test scenarios and test cases as well as assist with review of client data to determine the validity of the data, which includes negotiating possible solutions to problems, offering suggestions to the client, and recommending needed changes to the system.
  • Be proficient in creating and maintaining the following analysis artifacts: Process Maps, User Stories, Non-functional requirements, Interface Log, Data Dictionaries and/or glossaries, Test Plans, Test Case

Who You Are:

  • 3-5 years IT-related experience, such as Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, etc.
  • Experience with Word, intermediate Excel and SQL/Query skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills demonstrating ability to share and impart knowledge
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
  • Strong level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Intermediate ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; Ability to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects
  • Intermediate ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
  • Intermediate skills in customer relationship management
  • Basic negotiating and persuasion skills
  • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines
  • Ability to train internal associates and external clients on system capabilities and processes
  • Ability to develop requirement documents and user stories
  • Intermediate data analysis skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience

  • Preferred:

  • 5+ years IT-related experience, such as Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, etc.
  • Experience using VISIO or similar business process modeling tool
  • Commercial mortgage related experience (preferably in the reverse mortgage sector)
  • Knowledge of funds and direct, unsecured loans

The compensation:

Highly competitive base salary.
