C032019: Senior Frontend Developer

The role:

As a salaried fulltime employee of Ferguson Consulting, you will function as a contract IT resource in the role of Senior Frontend Developer at the enterprise level for our telecommunications client in St. Louis, MO.

As a Ferguson Consulting employee, and a consultant to our end client, you are able to focus on your technical skills development and career versus becoming a client SME - which is always in your best interest.

For this opportunity, you will perform as a Senior Frontend Developer. You will develop, modify, enhance and implement software systems designed to support new and existing business initiatives. You will act as lead technical resource for an agile scrum team and actively participate in the project planning, sprint planning, daily scrum, and sprint review.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, implement and maintain unit tests of programs
  • Develop and maintain thorough system knowledge for the project/product.
  • Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting
  • Work with the team to maintain system quality
  • Stay current with changes in the technical area of expertise, best practices, newer frameworks, and patterns related to all technologies (Frontend)
  • Research, analyze, recommend and select technical approaches for solving difficult and challenging development and integration problems.
  • Act as Build coordinator managing all the Jenkins builds and deployments.
  • Mentor other team members through the software development process

Who You Are:

  • 4+ years of strong experience in Front End technologies
  • Strong experience working with React + Redux framework.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6/ES7), HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and RESTful web services
  • Working knowledge on Jenkins (Pipeline preferred), Maven, GIT, Bitbucket/GitHub, Artifactory.
  • Experience in designing & developing reusable front end frameworks, node modules and tools
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Willingness to mentor junior developers
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to software engineering implementation teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

The compensation:

Highly competitive base salary.
