AB072319: Senior Quality Assurance Tester

As a salaried fulltime employee of Ferguson Consulting, you will function as a contract IT resource in the role of QA Tester at the enterprise level for our one of our most prestigious customers who is also one the world’s largest breweries. They are located in the historic Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis.

As a QA Tester you will analyze requirements to determine functionality that needs to be tested, prepare test data, conduct system testing and/or component compliance with specified requirements, and conduct integrated system testing to test across other systems and business units who utilize the same database tables. You will help prepare User Acceptance documentation and conduct regression testing in support of future releases.

The testing will be centered on the replacement of existing/outdated 20-year functionality with new inputs and processes mimicking (where it makes sense) the current processes. You will be testing needs to ensure no downstream system impacts with the new solution.

What You'll Do:

  • Participate in Test Kick-Off Meeting
  • Create test strategy including test scope diagram
  • Identify and document testing out of scope
  • Ensure testing tasks are incorporated into Project Plan
  • Document test requirements (tool usage preferred)
  • Build test cases for all test phases in established testing tool
  • Identify test environment and test data requirements
  • Assist with coordination and collection of test data
  • Setup Quality Center
  • Coordinate and Execute System and Integrated System test cases, document test results and defects in established testing tool
  • Coordinate and/or Execute UAT test cases, document test results and defects in established testing tool
  • Report test planning and test execution progress and quality (Defects) on a weekly basis
  • Train other project resources on the use of HP Quality Center if necessary.
  • Prepare test summary at the end of the testing cycle.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of experience working as a QA Analyst / Tester
  • Experience running SQL Queries etc.
  • The ability to do testing for a variety of technology (Do not need to be specialized in one area)
  • Work with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and also Visio and Project
  • Understand overall internet knowledge such as firewalls, file exchange using http and ftp, etc.
  • Experience using HP Quality Center for test management, test execution and defect tracking
  • Ability to report testing status (including the # of scripts executed, defects found, etc.)
  • Understand query functionality of a database to verify testing results
  • Work independently and be a self-starter
  • Understand development and testing methodologies
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
