Position Overview:

As an fulltime employee of Ferguson Consulting, you will be performing a Scrum Master role within the eCommerce group at our telecommunications client. The development stack is Java technologies. You will provide effective collaboration, facilitation, leadership, and coaching skills supporting the agile development process and delivery of our client’s enterprise applications. As an agile expert, the Scrum Master will be responsible for driving project execution, removing impediments and promoting transparency. You will facilitate daily stand-ups and ensure the integrity of the agile process by capturing team metrics and removing obstacles to drive projects to successful release.


  • Coach the development team and stakeholders on how to use Agile/Scrum practices
  • Act as Scrum Master for agile teams with a focus on guiding the teams towards project goals while also improving the way they work
  • Facilitate sprint planning, retrospective and sprint demos
  • Ensure cross-team coordination
  • Maintain relevant metrics that help the team see how they are doing



  • Not abrasive, but assertive enough to get the job done
  • Extremely detail-oriented and willing to ask a lot of questions to ensure the team is moving in the right direction (but also retains the answers to the questions and applies that knowledge to drive their actions)
  • Proactive and someone who thinks downstream and plans ahead rather than just focused on what is in front of them
  • Scrum Master experience. Client is moving away from a traditional PM type of role. These roles will be true Scrum Masters. Candidate will need experience facilitating the following types of activities:
      • Backlog Grooming and Planning
      • Story Mapping
      • Effective stand-ups
      • Retrospectives
      • Sprint Demos
      • Burn-down/Burn-up/Velocity reporting
  • Scrum experience in an environment that was very new to Agile/Scrum would be helpful as it gives them more perspective as to what the client is going through
  • Experience with capacity planning and determining resource capacity within the scrum team, is a plus
  • Experience managing and building sprint boards and managing backlogs in JIRA, is a plus
  • Experience working with a scrum/project team that had a mixture of individuals located locally as well as in another country/state is also a plus



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 3 years of hands on experience working as a Scrum Master
  • Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form
  • Effective leadership and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Experience with AHA is a plus

The compensation:

Highly competitive base salary.
