As a salaried fulltime employee of Ferguson Consulting, you will function as a contract IT resource in the role of Senior Project Manager at the enterprise level for our reinsurance client in Chesterfield, MO.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead and direct multiple global, divisional or departmental IT projects throughout the project lifecycle. You will facilitate and drive out cross-functional and cross-divisional decisions from key stakeholders. You will develop project charters and related project management work products, ensure that projects meet customer requirements and corporate strategies. You will manage projects within the constraints of time, cost, scope and quality.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manages large and/or complex projects through the project lifecycle, including developing charters, plans, schedules, and budgets; allocating resources; monitoring performance against schedule, budget, and quality targets; managing changes, issues and risks; and providing regular communication to program management and other areas within the organization.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication with other project managers, cross-functional project teams, and internal/ external customers in order to identify key plan tasks and due dates.
  • Provides guidance in the application toolset required to code, test and troubleshoot applications for new development and on-going support, and direct the activities of all technical resources on the project.
  • Performs management duties including, but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, and coaching direct reports. Foster a positive and engaged work environment. Mentor associates and give guidance on associate development.
  • Ensures business partners’ expectations are met, gain understanding when desired outcomes are not feasible and provide alternative solutions to meet objective(s).
  • Conducts feasibility studies and perform cost/benefit analysis for IT projects.
  • Establishes and maintains best practices and consistent project management policies and guidelines in line with IT project management methodologies.

Who You Are:

  • 8+ years formal project management experience
  • 2-5 years of project lead, supervisory, or management experience
  • Experience with MS Project Server, MS Project, MS Office Suite
  • Advanced project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope for feasibility, understanding, scheduling, and ensure projects meet budget and plan criteria.
  • Advanced skills in software development methodologies and possess the ability to disseminate them to a team.
  • Knowledge of finance and/or accounting principles, standards and rules.
  • Knowledge of financial and budgeting systems.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received
  • Advanced level of investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, participate in department/team projects and balance detail with departmental objectives
  • Advanced ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously
  • Advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines
  • Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
  • Advanced level of skills in customer relationship management and change management
  • Ability to resolve conflict and foster teamwork
  • Broad business knowledge
  • Advanced persuasion and negotiating skills when working with internal/external customers
  • Highly advanced level of people management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead, mentor, and develop associates; including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • PMP Certification
  • ITIL Certification
  • Master’s degree
  • LOMA certification
  • Advanced risk management skills
  • Advanced communication skills, with ability to effectively target communications to a wide range of audiences, senior executives to individual contributors
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement and management skill

The compensation:

Highly competitive base salary.
