The role:

As a salaried fulltime employee of Ferguson Consulting, you will function as a contract IT resource in the role of Senior Backend Developer at the enterprise level for our telecommunications client in St. Louis, MO.

As a Ferguson Consulting employee, and a consultant to our end client, you are able to focus on your technical skills development and career versus becoming a client SME - which is always in your best interest.

In this advanced Backend Developer role, you will be a member of the Apple TV enhancement coming soon to Charter. You will act as the technical resource working on a modal that would live outside of Gateway Enterprise but integrated on the dashboard. Currently, Gateway doesn’t have the ability to manage any type of EIP (Enterprise Information Portal) payments. The project’s goal is to create a separate web-based application that allows the agent to manage the EIP. This will allow the agent to view how much someone paid, has remaining on account, view card on file, etc

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, implement and unit test server-side JEE/Java code.
  • Assist in onboarding new API end points, develop and enhance automation.
  • Participate in the full SDLC (Agile), including meetings, iterative development, estimations and design sessions.
  • Work with 3rd parties, Operations and IT teams to help support production environments.
  • Deliver project assignments on time, within budget and with high quality.
  • Expectation is to work as an individual/self-starter to write and review technical specifications as required, meeting the objectives of functional specifications. Specifically, identifying specific interfaces, methods, parameters, procedures or functions as required.
  • At regular intervals during the project, collaborate with architects and other software engineering resources in designing and implementing integrated, enterprise solutions.

Who You Are:

  • Proficient in object oriented development and Java Enterprise concepts (minimum 5 years of experience)
  • Spring Platform (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, Spring Cloud) (minimum 3 years of experience)
  • Solid experience in Springboot/Spring , Java 8 ,Micro services
  • Good understanding of Design Pattern implementation
  • Experience in working with Mongo databases. Oracle experience a plus.
  • Experience with Splunk (logging, search)
  • Development of Web Services with REST/JSON. Knowledge of SOAP/WSDL/SOA a plus
  • Experience in writing Junit test cases
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in Javascript, Java, HTML, CSS, Linux/Unix is a plus.
  • Experience with CI tools: Jenkins, Git/GitHub, Maven. Sonar and AppDynamnics are a plus.
  • Basic understanding of Web Servers.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Agile including meetings, iterative development, estimations and design sessions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
