C010319: Senior QA Tester

The role:

As a salaried fulltime employee of Ferguson Consulting, you will function as a contract IT resource in the role of Senior QA Tester at the enterprise level for our telecommunications client in St. Louis, MO.

As a Ferguson Consulting employee, and a consultant to our end client, you are able to focus on your technical skills development and career versus becoming a client SME - which is always in your best interest.

The application is a new Java-based component, coded with React JS, which evokes a series of new micro-services that communicate with existing systems and service layers; the data from which will be consumed by a new AEM (an Adobe product) hosted single page application.

What You’ll Do:

  • Execute manual test cases through a UI and document results
  • Maintain tests based on ongoing changes to applications, tools and environment
  • Work directly with developers and analysts in a scrum-like fashion
  • Ensure Standards and Guidelines are followed with QA Reviews
  • Ensures that system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved
  • Identifies, recommends and implements changes to enhance the effectiveness of software quality assurance strategies
  • Execute detailed data validation testing plans, test suites, test cases and test scripts enabling all levels of testing (unit, functional, integration, and regression, security, browser, accessibility, etc.)
  • Document and escalate issues

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of experience working as a QA Analyst / Tester
  • Good understanding of STLC principles and must have previous experience working within a scrum, or within a DevOps environment
  • Must have strong organizational skills, written and oral communication skills, and problem solving skills
  • Critical Thinking, Analytical skills to troubleshoot and help identify the solution
  • Ability to work in a team focused environment across multiple projects
  • Must be willing to work overtime and non-standard shifts as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience in writing automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium
  • Experience in working with TestRail and Jmeter is a plus.

The compensation:

Highly competitive base salary.
