The role:

As a salaried fulltime employee of Ferguson Consulting, you will function as a contract IT resource in the role of Senior PL/SQL Developer

at the enterprise level for our telecommunications client in St. Louis, MO.

What You’ll Do:

  • Knowledge of design fundamentals and data modeling concepts.
  • Strong experience in working with business/IT partners to understand business requirements.
  • Ability to implement complex business logic and working in environment with a short development cycle.
  • Design/Develop Oracle PL/SQL code (stored procedures, triggers etc), testing (based on the requirements and document results), implementation and bug fix resolution of the application enhancements for multiple projects.
  • Lead innovations by exploring, investigating, recommending, benchmarking and implementing new technologies for the Oracle platform.
  • Ensure that solutions are delivered by working closely with various teams and organizations within the company including on-site and off-shore team members, production support database administrators, project managers, and platform and application support teams.
  • Collaborate with external business partners such as vendors and technical consultants to provide support for system issues or introduce new solution.
  • Design and document system standards and operating procedures.
  • Provide technical roadmaps and database solutions to better position the business to meet new technical and competition challenges.
  • Review and improve existing system solutions and processes towards best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on various projects and initiatives.

Who You Are:

  • 8-10 years of hands-on database design, programming and tuning experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of MicroSoft SQL Server database technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of various Oracle database technologies, such as Oracle 10g, Oracle 11g, Enterprise User Security, etc.
  • Strong skills in database and SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with UNIX operating systems and strong shell scripting.
  • Strong skills in PL/SQL and ETL.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer facing technical presence with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent experience.

Preferred Knowledge:

  • SQL Server Replication
  • SSIS package creation and deployment
  • Oracle Replication such as Golden Gate

The compensation:

Highly competitive base salary.
