IT Delivery Manageris accountable to lead a team of IT professionals responsible for collecting and understanding technical business requirements, and delivering solutions for a focused group of technology. The
IT Delivery Managermanages the end to end software development life cycle, including close collaboration with project sponsors, business owners, shared IT resources, and the day- to-day leadership for project execution within their IT work stream. The
IT Delivery Manageris accountable for all feature deliverables of the
IT Delivery Teamwithin their assigned work stream. The
IT Delivery Manageris the single point of contact for Business Owners into the Charter IT organization.
Operations/Decision Making (20%):Partner with IT PMO and TMO resources to manage business requirements activities including resource planning, schedule adherence, prioritization, scope documentation, technical business requirements, reporting and escalation. Partner with IT PMO and TMO resources to manage project and software release management activities including resource planning, prioritization, project plan/ schedule development, executive status reporting, risk management, issue management, deployment and escalation. Coordinate handoff from project development to support team. Collaborate with business and IT leadership stakeholders regarding strategic Roadmap items and develop release plans optimized for schedule & feature development. Create and drive the software development schedule, defining which features will be delivered on what timelines, and working with the entire team to determine dates for deployment. Establish necessary processes to ensure consistent quality of product delivery on schedule.
Leadership/Staff Accountability (20%):Lead the IT work stream team to promote innovation and subject matter expertise, operational efficiencies, timely project delivery, and effective resource allocation. Indirectly manage a team consisting of full time employees and vendor resources completing design, development, analysis, test and project management work. Collaborate with matrixed teams on a dotted line relationship to influence quality, on-time deliverables. Challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor; inspire coworkers to attain goals and pursue excellence. Identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change; motivate team to work together in the most efficient manner. Remain current with emerging industry practices specific to software development lifecycle. Provide thought leadership for IT and Business leadership stakeholders outside of a direct reporting structure regarding their focused group of technologies.
Business Knowledge & Project Management (30%): Responsible for making decisions in such a way that risk is controlled and uncertainty minimized. Provide guidance to TMO & Development Leads on applicable SDLC for each project and oversee the project team’s implementation within the specified process. Align with business owners to define project objectives in support of business goals. Effectively communicate expectations to in a timely and clear fashion. Deliver quarterly updates to Stakeholders in Portfolio review.
Financial (10%): Search out, evaluate, and execute on cost saving measures wherever possible when selecting vendors or technologies in the design of application solutions. Continually refine the work processes to be more efficient to minimize costs and risks for consultant analysis and delivery management services. Prepare and present budget and forecasted budget for their assigned work stream in alignment with Charter Business Planning guidelines. Evaluate budget requests, contributing to the overall IT budget creation for their focused group of technology and serve as a point of contact in the budget process. Serve as the primary IT point of contact for the work stream’s vendor relationship(s). Responsible for on-time, on-cost, on-scope deliverables.
Leading Change / Driving Innovation (10%): Continuously look for opportunities within the department to reduce costs, deliver value through technology and innovation, improve time to delivery, and remove process related inefficiency. Encourage excellence and a strong desire to maximize the performance of the department. Encourage the team to challenge established boundaries, inviting the team to think beyond current process and needs in an effort to exceed expectations. Challenge vendors to improve products to better address Charter’s needs, reduce their costs to provide higher value, and deliver timely results. Serve as an example of a change leader for the broader IT community and Business stakeholders for their focused group of technology. Validate that all solutions deployed follow Charter project standards. Ensure support teams have accurate and complete systems hardware and application information / documentation regarding their configuration / implementation to help in timely maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of issues; reducing unplanned downtime to the application.
Strategy (10%):Align with business owners to understand their challenges and partner to meet those needs with technology innovation. Build, develop, and grow relationships with key business and IT stakeholders/ owners. Understand business problems, lead the IT team in designing and delivering IT solutions to users. Collaborate with IT leaders, peers, and vendors / service providers to understand new technologies and evaluate their potential application in meeting current and future business requirements. Drive IT team to deliver features against the Business’ Roadmap. Partner with peers to ensure consistent user experience and avoid conflicting efforts within the Portals team.
