POSITION OVERVIEW:

Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support in formulating strategic technology approaches and systems architectures for our client's enterprise systems. This position is responsible for designing reusable technical assets and standards to support solution development, as well as consulting with project owners on how to best leverage these assets and standards. Broad knowledge of the information technology landscape - stretching from infrastructure, network, client, server, emerging technology standards and trends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

· Responsible to support initiatives associated with the integration of the Automic Application Release Automation (ARA) solution

· Maintain ARA Software support and provide escalation to Automic and our client's leadership for issues and problem resolution

· Establish ARA roles, governance and maintain system access

· Work with vendor to establish and maintain application lifecycle roadmap. Communicate to leadership and ARA customer base

· Establish and maintain ARA library of approved scripting artifacts. Work with IT teams to obtain and create new process artifacts as needed. Identify new ARA opportunities and establish use cases

· Create and maintain integration interfaces to other tools such as Remedy/Service Now, HP ALM, etc.

· Support the objectives of Service Management by contributing and influencing peers to help support ARA to achieve elevation

· Maintain library of Standard Operating Procedures for consistent and effective operation

· Provide ongoing best practices and application support knowledge transfer to co-workers. Train application teams on development and scripting process. On-board new application teams as required.

· Provides input to procedures for monitoring; receives alerts, evaluates diagnoses and establishes work plan to resolve system issues

· Drive business and IT alignment to leverage reusable architecture capabilities

· Collaborate with IT management to define and develop technology strategy, technology standards, roadmaps, and practices

· Act as a technical expert addressing problems relating to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platform integration

· Interact and consult with appropriate business analysts, project managers and developers to understand application/project requirements and define architectural solutions to meet those requirements

· Work with the application solutions delivery teams in the development of services, components, standards, and frameworks required to support our client's business strategy (e.g. design patterns, reusable components)

· Ensure that projects follow the prescribed development life cycle and meets quality standards

· Assist with analyzing and recommending software acquisitions and alternative solutions/methodologies/strategies and tools

· Keep current with trends and technological innovations in the Cable and IT industry, and make appropriate development recommendations

· Identify risks associated with component or application implementation

· Rotating On-Call Duties

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong understanding of Enterprise Architectures, Java and Database solutions

· Sound database experience in SQL server, SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle

· DevOps skills across SCM, Static Code Analyzer, Build and Release, Continuous Integration tools and frameworks such as, Git, ANT, Maven, Sonar, Jenkins, Artifactory

· Strong understanding and practical working knowledge of Unix Shell Scripting, Java, Python, Jenkins, Git, Maven

· Strong know-how of operating systems such as Windows, Linux & UNIX

· Experience administering application servers, servlet containers, and web servers (WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, etc.)

· Familiarity with Weblogic Scripting using WLST, Powershell Scripting, REST and SOAP Web Services, JIRA, Confluence and Splunk

· Experience with seamless/automated build scripts used for release management across all environments.

· Operations Team Experience

· Experience with unit testing and automated testing tools

· Experience doing project work

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· 5+ years experience designing or configuring systems and/or applications

· 3+ years Relational Database Design and Maintenance

· 2 years of exposure setting-up and configuring Build, Release and Continuous Integration to best practices

· Familiarity with Automic Application Release Automation (ARA) /UC4 One Automation

  • Familiarity with BMC Remedy Change Management, Service Now or similar tools

Highly competitive base salary.
